Elain O'Connell, National Chairperson of the Irish Trefoil Guild was interviewed by the Irish Girl Guide newsletter...
Q: How did you get involved with Guiding?
A: My Guide Captain, Kitty Murphy, worked in the Tea Shop where my father, a barber, who worked late on Saturdays, went for tea. Kitty ran 9th Cork and needed recruits. I started with her aged 10 and have never looked back. Kitty Murphy's influence can be seen in many Regions today, for example, Jane Turnbull, Galway.
Q: What are your plans for the Trefoil Guild for the future?
A: My vision for Trefoil Guild includes a wish to increase membership and profile. Please let me have any ideas.
Q: Tell us one amazing, surprising fact about yourself!
A: I don't eat curry and my family will not partner me at Pictionary. They pronounce me a disaster!
